Who can buy? toggle content

The vehicle can only be purchased by a 3rd party. The vehicle cannot be purchased by the agreement holder or a director of the hiring company.

I'd like to purchase my Alphabet vehicle, how do I do this? toggle content

If your vehicle is under a Contract Hire agreement, you can get a quote online via our dedicated Alphabet Driver Sales quotation website located here.

If your vehicle is an Employee Scheme vehicle, please contact our Sale to Driver to via usedcarbusiness@alphabet.co.uk

For any Finance Lease or Contract Purchase vehicles, please contact the Calculations team via calculations@alphabet.co.uk

Please note: we can only provide purchase price quotations after the first 12 months of your agreement. Any early termination charges that may apply, will be invoiced separately to the purchase of the vehicle.

When do I make the payment? toggle content

Payment in full is required on the date the hire agreement comes to an end. Please ensure that payment for the vehicle purchase price is paid directly to BCA Re-Marketing Solutions. Please note: ownership of the vehicle will transfer once the hire agreement comes to an end and we are in receipt of cleared funds.

What reference should I use when I make payment? toggle content

Please use your vehicle registration number as the reference when making payment - this helps us to allocate your funds to the correct account.

When will I receive my documents? toggle content

As soon as we receive payment in full, we'll send you the V5C/2. We will also send the V5C to the DVLA so that they can register you as the new keeper. The DVLA will then send you the new V5C within 4-6 weeks.

Will I receive an MOT certificate? toggle content

MOT certificates are now held electronically. To check the MOT status of your vehicle, please visit https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-status (you'll need your vehicle registration number to hand).

How do I tax my vehicle? toggle content

Due to recent changes to vehicle taxation, you will not be able to benefit from any remaining tax on the vehicle. You must tax your vehicle from the date you take ownership. To use the online service, please visit: https://vehicletax.service.gov.uk/ and follow the online instructions. You will need to quote the 12-digit reference number on the V5C/2 (green slip) as shown below.

Alternatively, you can take the V5C/2 to your nearest post office. If you have not received your V5C/2 certificate and you need to tax your vehicle immediately, please let us know and we will email the 12-digit reference number to you.

When do I need to insure my vehicle? toggle content

You need to insure your vehicle by midnight on the day prior to taking ownership of it.

Will my vehicle have a warranty? toggle content

If your vehicle has less than 6 months’ manufacturer warranty you will receive a complimentary mechanical warranty from the Motoring Organisation, giving you up to 6 months warranty cover from the date of purchase. The mechanical warranty is subject to terms and conditions and a maximum claim of £500. Vehicles used for hire or reward are excluded.

Can I get finance for my vehicle? toggle content

Yes, Alphabet has a range of finance products to suit your needs. Please contact the sales team on 01625 417980 to discuss your finance options. Finance is available subject to status and to over 18s in the UK only. A guarantee may be required.

Am I liable for any contractual charges such as early termination fees or excess mileage or damage charges? toggle content

No, the company named on the hire agreement is responsible for any end of term charges but please note that any price quote we provide to you before the contract end date is subject to the vehicle’s final condition and mileage.

I have just purchased my Alphabet vehicle, can I get a copy of the service history? toggle content
